This is my Barcelona. This is my TRYP. Barcelona
is Spain’s second city
and capital of the proud region of Catalunya. TRYP’s city
aficionados can point you to all the must-see destinations, dining and attractions in this amazing Mediterranean city. First on your bucket-list should be the jaw-dropping Parc Guëll, located on a hilltop with views of the ocean and the city. Designed by the famous Catalonian architect Antoni Gaudí as an exclusive retreat for the rich, it was later converted to a public park. Gaze at the hallucinogenic, colorful sculptures, grab a bite to eat at one of the park’s many cafés or restaurants, check out the Gaudí Museum or just enjoy the sun and the sights. You could easily spend the day up here. No trip to Barcelona is complete without a walk down the city’s exciting main thoroughfare, La Rambla, and a visit to another Gaudí landmark and pride of the Barcelonins, the Sagrada Familia cathedral
. Climb the steps for an incredible view of the city.
Then explore the many cool shops and café’s along the lively, narrow streets of the Gothic Quarter. The city’s also known for its trendy vinotecas or wine bars. There’s nothing better than a good glass of wine and some pica-pica, (Catalonian-style tapas) and there are some choice wine bars that stay open until 2-3 am. So if you’re looking for a sophisticated, vino-filled night out, don’t miss out on one of the city’s hottest, Paladar D’Estruc Vinoteca, off Plaça Catalunya, in the heart of the Barri Gotic (Gothic Quarter).
