Whether you’re here for a business meeting, or just to eat, drink and people watch, we’ll give you the inside scoop so you can own the city like a native Porteño.

Sample a delectable parrilla at Cabaña las Lilas, where cuts of beef are so soft you won’t need a steak knife. Sip an espresso or mate tea at Café Tortoni on the Avenida de Mayo, a favorite with artists and writers for over a century, and be sure to come back for their nightly tango show. Check out the Obelisk, unveiled for the city’s 400th anniversary, and Plaza de Mayo, home of the presidential palace. Shop in nearby Recoleta, known for its bustling street markets and popular cemetery, where Argentine luminaries like Evita Perón are buried. Catch an impromptu outdoor tango demonstration in colorful La Boca, and don’t miss historic San Telmo, for a stunning display of 19th century architecture. Explore the lush Japanese gardens of Palermo, then club hop the night away in some of the city’s hottest bars and nightclubs in Arcos de Ferrocarril. But to be cool in Buenos Aires, you gotta stay up really late! Porteños have dinner no earlier than 9 pm and hit the clubs only after midnight.
