This is my Lisbon. This is my TRYP.
Lisbon combines a laid-back Iberian charm with an incredible heritage. During Columbus’s time, it was the capital of the world’s greatest seafaring nation, and today, fishing remains a principal industry, carrying on a gastronomic tradition.
TRYP’s vetted reps know where the best fish, bacalhau (salted cod), and pie-sized crabs from the Atlantic can be found from among the countless eating places and cafes in the city.
To understand
Lisbon you won’t want to miss the historic Belem district and the Jeronimos monastery, home of the explorer Vasco da Gama’s crypt. A few steps away, visit the iconic Castelo de São Jorge (St. George’s Castle) where you’ll get amazing views of the city. Wind through the medieval streets of the Alfama district, (by day only, please!) full of bars and restaurants, and pop into the church of São Vicente de Fora for an impressive display of the celebrated azulejo tiles. Kids will love Lisbon’s amazing zoo and the Oceanarium in the Parque das Naçoes.
At night, one of the coolest places to hang out is the Bairro Alto section, where you can get your beer in a plastic cup, stand outside and meet the Lisboetas. We wouldn’t be surprised if
Lisbon becomes your new favorite weekend getaway.
